The Opportunity

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Workplace Relations Advisor to join a collaborative HR team for a 3 month contract (for now).

This role plays a key part in supporting employee and industrial relations while ensuring workplace practices are fair, consistent, and compliant.

You’ll partner closely with leaders across the business, providing advice, managing employee relations matters, and contributing to a positive and high-performing workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support a range of employee relations (ER) and industrial relations (IR) matters, including:
    • Misconduct investigations
    • Performance management
    • Grievances and disciplinary processes
  • Provide advice to managers on employment legislation, policies, and best practice
  • Prepare professional HR correspondence (e.g. investigation letters, outcomes, terminations)
  • Support Fair Work–related matters and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act, NES, awards, and enterprise agreements
  • Maintain accurate case files and track timelines
  • Assist with policy development, audits, and reporting
  • Deliver or support training and coaching to build leadership capability
  • Collaborate with HR, payroll, and business leaders to improve processes and reduce risk
About You
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in HR, ER, or IR
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law (Fair Work Act & NES)
  • Experience supporting investigations, grievances, and performance processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism
Desirable
  • Exposure to awards or enterprise agreements (e.g. SCHADS or similar)
  • Experience with Fair Work Commission matters
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (HR, IR, Law or similar)
