This is a fully remote role working four hours per week. We are looking for someone who can do more than simply translate content. You'll help ensure messaging is relevant, engaging and appropriate for Chinese audiences while providing valuable insights back to the wider team.

About the Role;

You will be responsible for adapting and publishing content across Chinese social media channels, monitoring audience engagement, and identifying themes and trends that may influence future content and communications.
Working closely with our Australian team and in-country reviewers, you'll act as a trusted advisor, helping us better understand audience sentiment and opportunities for engagement.
Key Responsibilities

  • Adapt and localise content for WeChat and Xiaohongshu audiences
  • Schedule and publish content using our social media platform (Synobis)
  • Monitor comments, questions and audience engagement
  • Proactively flag comments requiring response and coordinate with relevant team members
  • Identify recurring questions, themes or areas where additional explanation or content may be valuable

    • Content performance
    • Emerging trends within China
    • Opportunities for future content
  • Prepare a monthly summary report highlighting key themes, trends and recommendations
  • Escalate urgent issues or reputational risks when required
  • Work collaboratively with the in-country team, who will review and advise on any content requiring additional approval
About You We're looking for someone who combines strong writing skills with cultural understanding and commercial awareness.
You will have:
  • Experience managing content on WeChat, Xiaohongshu or similar Chinese social media platforms
  • Native or near-native Chinese language skills and excellent written English
  • Experience adapting content for different cultural audiences rather than direct translation alone
  • Strong judgement and the confidence to work independently
  • The ability to identify trends, insights and audience needs
  • A proactive approach to community engagement and stakeholder communication
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
What's on Offer
  • Fully remote working arrangement
  • Four-day-per-week position
  • Flexibility around working hours
  • Opportunity to shape and grow engagement with Chinese-speaking audiences
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment
Location Applicants must be based in New South Wales, Victoria or Queensland and have full Australian working rights.
