A national not-for-profit membership organisation supporting professionals across Australia through advocacy, member services, professional development and sector engagement. The organisation delivers a strong events and conference program that connects members, shares knowledge and strengthens the voice of the profession at a national level.
About the role:
As the Conference and Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination and delivery of a national annual conference.
The position carries a strong focus on conference management, sponsorship development and stakeholder coordination. You will manage project planning, budgets and timelines while also identifying and securing sponsorship opportunities and ensuring all sponsor commitments are delivered to a high standard. Working across speakers, suppliers, programming, venues and systems, you will ensure a seamless and professional conference experience from planning through to post-event evaluation.
Please note that this role is a fixed term contract until December 2026 however is highly likely to become a permanent role.
To be successful you will have:
- Experience working within a membership-based or association environment is essential
- Proven end-to-end experience delivering flagship conferences and large-scale events
- Demonstrated ability to secure, manage and deliver sponsorship agreements
- Strong experience managing budgets, timelines and competing priorities
- Excellent project coordination and organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure
- Confidence working independently in a remote environment
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders, including senior external partners
- A calm, proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of the annual national conference
- Develop and manage budgets, project plans and delivery timelines
- Identify and secure sponsorship opportunities
- Manage sponsor relationships and ensure delivery of agreed benefits
- Coordinate speakers, suppliers, venues and event logistics
- Oversee registration systems and attendee management processes
- Support event marketing and communications activities
- Manage on-the-day delivery and resolve issues as they arise
- Coordinate post-event reporting, evaluation and financial reconciliation
- Provide general administrative and project support where required
