We are seeking a Relationship Manager, Major Gifts to join our fundraising team. This role builds long-term, high-value relationships with donors with the capacity to fund large medical research studies and projects that can achieve long term systemic change.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, you will manage a portfolio of major donors while proactively identifying and cultivating new philanthropic relationships. You will work closely with senior leaders, researchers and program teams to connect donor motivations with compelling cases for support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acquire, retain and grow relationships with high-value donors and philanthropists
- Manage a portfolio of major gift donors
- Develop compelling proposals and cases for support aligned to donor interests
- Represent CPA at events and donor engagement activities
- Deliver donor stewardship strategies to secure repeat and long-term funding
- Work collaboratively across teams within fundraising including individual giving, events and corporate to maximise major giving potential for CPA
- Maintain and update financial and communication details for major donors in the CRM
- Track, analyse and report on major gift engagement, activity and revenue performance
You’re an experienced major gifts professional who thrives on building trusted, long-term relationships. You bring a strong understanding of donor motivations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to connect philanthropic investment with meaningful outcomes. You’re confident working with senior stakeholders and motivated by purpose-led work that creates real social impact.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Proven experience securing and managing major philanthropic gifts
- Proven experience stewarding major donors
- Strong relationship, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to develop compelling donor proposals and cases for support
- Experience managing donor portfolios, reporting and CRM data
- Collaborative mindset and capability working across teams within a broader fundraising team
