About the role

The Regional Training Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Fellowship Program across the Northern Territory while leading and supporting a small, dedicated team. The role ensures the effective, high-quality, and compliant delivery of programs, with all activities aligned to organisational standards, operational requirements, and regulatory obligations.

Working closely with participants, educators, partner organisations, and key stakeholders, the Regional Training Manager plays a key role in strengthening relationships across the Northern Territory and increasing engagement with the organisation's programs and pathways. The role is responsible for promoting the organisation, driving recruitment and participation outcomes, identifying opportunities to broaden reach and impact, and developing strategic partnerships that support the ongoing growth and success of the Fellowship Program across the region.

Key responsibilities:
  • Program delivery and operations : Lead delivery of the Fellowship training in your region, ensuring activities run on time, meet standards and remain compliant, while managing placements, data and risks.
  • Team leadership : Lead and support a geographically dispersed team, driving performance, capability and a collaborative, accountable culture.
  • Stakeholder engagement:  Act as the central coordination point and build strong relationships across registrars, training sites, educators and key stakeholders.
  • Promotion and outreach:  Represent the organisation at events and engagement activities, supporting participant attraction, retention and growth across the region.
  • Planning and performance:  Monitor program performance and provide insights to inform workforce planning, continuous improvement and program growth.
  • Financial and governance:  Support budget oversight and ensure activities align with funding requirements, policies and safe, fit‑for‑purpose facilities.

About You
  • Experience managing education, training, healthcare or government-funded programs, ideally within a medical college, membership organisation, hospital or public sector setting.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including leading, developing and supporting geographically dispersed teams.
  • A proactive problem solver with a track record of strengthening program delivery, improving participant outcomes and driving successful recruitment initiatives.
  • A confident communicator with the ability to engage, influence and present effectively to a broad range of stakeholders and audiences.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to support individuals through complex, sensitive and challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with a keen eye for detail across data management, systems and program delivery.
  • Resilient, adaptable and solutions-focused, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Based in Darwin, or willing to relocate, with an understanding of the Northern Territory landscape, experience working with rural and remote communities, and a genuine commitment to being visible, engaged and connected across the region.
