About the Role
This is a rare opportunity for an emerging fundraiser to step into a newly created Philanthropy Officer role and grow a career in values-driven philanthropy.
Reporting to the Philanthropy Manager, you’ll play a vital role in nurturing relationships with a dedicated community of supporters who believe in creating long-term change. You’ll manage a portfolio of mid-level donors and gifts-in-wills supporters, building genuine, meaningful connections with people who want their generosity to leave a lasting legacy.

What You’ll Do
- Build strong, personal relationships with donors through thoughtful communication across mail, phone, email and digital channels
- Support the planning and delivery of appeals, donor journeys, proposals, thank-you letters and inspiring impact updates
- Assist with coordinating donor events that bring supporters closer to our mission
- Contribute to the bequest program by liaising with executors, solicitors and family members with care and sensitivity
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date supporter and program data in the CRM
- Research small trusts and foundations and assist with preparing grant submissions
- Work closely with the Philanthropy Manager to achieve fundraising targets and strengthen long-term donor relationships
You’re a warm, thoughtful communicator who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and making them feel valued. You’re curious, proactive and excited to learn more about philanthropy and relationship-based fundraising.
You’ll also bring:
- A passion for social justice, education, community development and international aid
- 1–2 years’ experience in fundraising, supporter care or a relationship-focused role
- Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in understanding donor motivations
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with confidence
