Lifeline Australia is a national charity providing Australians who are experiencing emotional distress with access to 24โhour crisis support, suicide prevention, mental health support and domestic and family violence prevention services.

The opportunity
This role sits within Philanthropy and focuses on building and sustaining highโvalue philanthropic support. You will manage major donors and philanthropic foundations, oversee strategic grants, and champion bestโpractice relationship fundraising across the organisation.
You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Capacity Campaign and collaborate across teams to deliver strong income growth and meaningful donor engagement.
In this role, you will
- Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors and philanthropic foundations
- Lead endโtoโend philanthropic grant submissions and acquittals through the Strategic Grants partnership
- Develop and deliver tailored cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans
- Produce highโquality donor communications, impact reporting and engagement materials
- Plan and deliver cultivation, stewardship and prospecting events
- Maintain accurate donor data and reporting in Salesforce to support insight and decisionโmaking
You bring strong experience in major gifts fundraising and thrive on building longโterm, valuesโaligned donor relationships. You are comfortable working autonomously, enjoy collaborating across teams and value meaningful stewardship, clear planning and good use of data.
You will bring:
- 5 years’ experience in fundraising
- A strong track record identifying, cultivating, and securing gifts
- Experiencing managing a portfolio of donors
- Understanding of Trusts and Foundations and grant management
- Confidence using CRMs, ideally Salesforce
- Passion for the mission of the Lifeline and ability to inspire others
