SAHSSI (Supported Accommodation & Homelessness Services Shoalhaven Illawarra) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable women and families experiencing homelessness or domestic and family violence across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions.
With over 30 years of service, SAHSSI provides safe accommodation, specialist homelessness support, and tailored programs that empower women and families to rebuild their lives. About the Role
We are seeking an experienced People and Culture Lead to provide HR expertise and leadership during an exciting period of transition and growth. This newly created, stand-alone role will shape and drive our people strategy, ensuring our workforce culture, values, and practices align with organisational goals.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will act as a trusted advisor and lead initiatives across leadership, performance management, employee wellbeing and engagement, diversity and inclusion, and HR compliance.
Key Responsibilities
· Drive organisational HR activities including workforce culture, values, and diversity & inclusion
· Lead HR operations including onboarding, performance management, and employee relations
· Lead change management initiatives to support organisational transformation
· Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent
· Establish transparent and sustainable remuneration frameworks
· Champion employee wellbeing programs and engagement initiatives
· Ensure compliance with workplace legislation, Awards, and HR best practice
· Provide coaching and support to leaders across the organisation
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
· A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources
· Proven track record in leading change management and organisational development projects
· Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Awards, and HR compliance frameworks
· Experience in recruitment, workforce planning, performance management, and employee relations
· The ability to operate both strategically and operationally in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
