Economic Development Australia (EDA) is the national peak body for economic development professionals. With a vibrant community of more than 2,000 members, EDA connects and empowers economic development leaders across the country through professional development programs, advocacy and flagship events.
About the Role
As National Marketing and Communications Officer, you will lead EDA’s marketing and communications across digital channels, social media, newsletters, and publications, creating engaging content and campaigns that drive member engagement. In addition to marketing, you will take a hands-on role in managing sponsorship and partnership relationships, delivering on commitments, and building strong connections with members and other stakeholders.
The role also requires expertise in digital marketing tools, including SEO, SEM, website management, and copywriting, to maximise reach and impact across all channels.
To be successful, you will have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing and communications, ideally within membership-based or professional organisations
- Strong skills in digital marketing, including social media, SEO, SEM, website management, and email campaigns
- Expertise in copywriting, content creation, and design (Canva proficiency essential)
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisational ability, and time management
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work autonomously in a collaborative team environment
- Develop and deliver engaging marketing campaigns across digital channels, social media, newsletters, and publications
- Design creative collateral and coordinate the production of the EDA Journal, Annual Report, and other key resources alongside agencies when necessary
- • Develop, lead, and execute the monthly digital marketing plan, as well as contribute to the creation and delivery of the annual marketing strategy
- Manage sponsorship and partnership relationships, ensuring deliverables are met and stakeholders are well supported
- Support membership growth through targeted engagement and outreach activities
- Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of flagship events
- Analyse marketing and campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations
