The Smith Family is a national, independent charity helping young Australians break the cycle of disadvantage through education. As part of the Fundraising Function within the Marketing Team, you will directly influence how supporters engage, give and stay connected to this vital mission.

We are seeking a National Manager, Campaigns - a strategic thinker and confident leader who thrives in a complex, insightโ€‘driven environment. This role is responsible for both campaign investment and development and fostering growth within a passionate team , overseeing integrated massโ€‘market campaign activity across cash, RG and sponsorship programs.

In this key leadership role, you will:

Lead campaign strategy and performance
  • Develop a multiโ€‘channel mass market campaign strategy that drives acquisition, retention and income growth
  • Lead creative strategy development to ensure brand alignment and market cutโ€‘through
  • Own the planning and delivery of campaign activity from concept through to execution
  • Prepare dataโ€‘led campaign briefs grounded in best-practice fundraising
Own and optimise campaign investment
  • Manage and be fully accountable for campaign budgets, media investment and direct marketing expenditure
  • Manage investment planning across high profile sponsorship and cash programs to maximise ROI
  • Lead regular performance reviews to guide forecasting and future planning
  • Identify growth opportunities and ensure budget is allocated for maximum shortโ€‘ and longโ€‘term return
Collaborate crossโ€‘functionally
  • Work closely with internal teams including Marketing, Fundraising Insights, Communications and Fundraising Operations
  • Partner with creative, media, data and research agencies to drive integrated campaign development
  • Contribute to crossโ€‘functional planning, championing efficiency, transparency and alignment across teams
Lead, develop and inspire the team
  • Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to direct reports, including the Senior Manager, Direct Marketing and the Media & Advertising Manager
  • Build a culture of trust, innovation and autonomy
  • Support professional development, succession planning and capability building
  • Recruit and onboard new team members as the function evolves
About You

You’re a strategic, analytical and peopleโ€‘centred leader with deep experience managing complex campaigns and budgets. You balance creativity with commercial insight, and you know how to bring out the best in your team while delivering results that matter.

You bring:

Essential experience
  • 7+ years’ experience in marketing or fundraising across multiple channels
  • Demonstrated success developing and delivering campaign strategies to achieve growth
  • Strong people leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring and performance management
  • Proven experience managing large, complex budgets with a focus on ROI
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including agency and crossโ€‘functional leadership
