About The Smith Family:
For more than 100 years, The Smith Family has been supporting children experiencing disadvantage to thrive at school, so they can create better futures for themselves. Through evidence-based programs and powerful storytelling, the organisation works hand-in-hand with families, schools, partners, and supporters to break the cycle of poverty through education.
About the Role:
Reporting to the National Campaigns Manager, this key role is responsible for the strategy, planning, and implementation of above-the-line (ATL) media activity across fundraising and donor acquisition campaigns. This role isn’t just about execution, it’s about elevating The Smith Family’s voice, optimising investment in paid media, and ensuring that every campaign has both impact and heart.
Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and optimise media budgets to maximise reach, efficiency, and return on investment.
- Collaborate with media and creative agencies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality campaign assets.
- Oversee campaign creative development, ensuring brand alignment and fundraising best practices.
- Produce regular performance reports and provide actionable insights to inform future campaigns.
- Conduct post-campaign analysis and contribute to comprehensive reviews across all media channels.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure integrated messaging across paid, earned and owned media.
- Identify media opportunities and make data-led recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Guide and mentor team members, fostering skill development and agile working principles.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with internal teams to support campaign planning and execution.
About You:
You’re a media strategist who thrives on driving results through compelling campaigns and smart media choices. You’ve got strong agency management skills, a sharp analytical mindset, and a passion for storytelling that sparks action. You’ll bring:
- 3+ years’ experience in managing integrated, multi-channel media campaigns.
- Strong background in agency management and delivering projects on time and on budget.
- Proven experience in managing large advertising budgets with a focus on ROI and performance metrics.
- A data-led approach to campaign design and optimisation.
- Experience leading small to medium-sized teams.
- A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or similar.
