About the Organisation
Our client is a highly regarded boutique law firm based in Melbourne's CBD. With a strong reputation for delivering tailored, high-quality legal services, they work with ASX-listed companies, multinational organisations, and high-net-worth individuals.
Their IT function is small but critical to the business, supporting approximately 135 staff and playing a key role in enabling the firm's continued growth and modernisation.
 
About the Opportunity
This is a newly created role due to growth and increased investment in IT. Reporting into the IT Manager, you'll act as the first point of contact for all IT support requests , providing Level 1-2 support across the business.
Working closely with a highly experienced IT Manager, you'll take ownership of day-to-day support, freeing them up to focus on infrastructure, governance, and security initiatives.
This role also offers the opportunity to be involved in a technology transformation , including implementing a formal ticketing system and improving overall IT processes and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for IT queries across all levels
  • Provide Level 1-2 support across hardware, software, and Microsoft 365 environments
  • Support onboarding/offboarding including laptop builds, user setup, and access management
  • Troubleshoot issues relating to systems, applications, and document management platforms
  • Assist with the rollout and management of a formal IT ticketing system
  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and IT asset registers
  • Support mobile device management (Intune or similar) and device lifecycle processes
  • Liaise with external vendors where required
  • Escalate more complex issues to the IT Manager
About You
You'll be a proactive and adaptable IT support professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, people-facing environment.
Essential:
  • 2+ years' experience in IT support, helpdesk, or desktop support
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows environments and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to support non-technical stakeholders
  • A calm, professional approach with strong problem-solving ability
Desirable:
  • Exposure to an IT ticketing or ITSM system (or strong understanding of how these operate)
  • Experience with Intune or mobile device management platforms
  • Exposure to document management systems (e.g. iManage)
  • Understanding of IT security fundamentals (MFA, security awareness)
