  • Sydney, inner-city office, based near Central Station - full-time, max. term contract to December 2026 (interstate applicants will be considered)
  • Seeking a creative and technically skilled Instructional Designer to design engaging, accessible and impactful digital learning solutions for a diverse workforce in the community services sector.

About the role

The Instructional Designer will report to the Head of Learning, and play a critical role in designing and developing engaging digital learning solutions that build skills, confidence and capability across the sector.
  • Create and update learning content (from writing, editing and maintaining courses, to assessments and videos).
  • Digest complex policy, legislative and practice information into engaging and practical learning.
  • Engage with industry subject matter experts (SMEs), as well as internally, to produce appropriate, high-quality learning and assessment resources.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset with learning assets, regularly auditing and suggesting improvements for compliance, quality and content.


Essential Knowledge Skills, Education and Experience:

Passion for, and robust experience with, adult learning – with a natural flair for translating complex content into meaningful learning experiences. And it goes without saying, a passion for the mission and purpose of the organisation!
  • Tertiary qualifications in instructional design, education, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience with online learning content design and delivery within the disability/community services sector.
  • Expertise in adult learning theory and instructional design best practice and ability to liaise with SMEs in order to translate complex technical processes into accessible learning.
  • Experience working with LMS platforms, as well use AI tools to enhance workflows.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills (and attention to detail!), as well as creativity and innovation in designing digital learning.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fluid environment and build internal relationships to collaborate effectively.
