About QTA
The Queensland Trucking Association (QTA) is the peak industry body representing and supporting the interests of the road freight and logistics sector in Queensland. QTA works with members, government, regulators, and industry stakeholders to promote a safe, productive, sustainable, and efficient trucking industry. Through advocacy, member support, events, engagement, and industry initiatives, QTA plays an important role in strengthening the voice and capability of the sector.

About the role
This is a hands-on engagement role where you will work directly with small to medium employers to understand their workforce challenges and help them find practical, realistic solutions.
You will spend much of your time out in the field building relationships, listening to business needs and providing tailored advice. This is not a sales role, but it does suit someone who is confident engaging with stakeholders and building trust quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage directly with employers across transport, logistics, and related sectors
- Identify workforce challenges and provide practical, tailored solutions
- Support development of workforce plans using structured tools and frameworks
- Connect employers with government programs, incentives, training, and support services
- Build and maintain strong industry relationships across Queensland
- Record engagement activity and contribute to program reporting requirements
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
You are a confident relationship builder who enjoys working directly with business owners and operators. You’re practical, solutions-focused, and comfortable operating in a field-based role.
You will bring:
- Experience in workforce planning, employer engagement, business development, program delivery or similar
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to quickly establish trust
- A practical understanding of small to medium business challenges
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Resilience and the ability to build trust with new stakeholders
- Experience in transport, logistics or a related industry is beneficial but not essential. More important is your ability to engage and add value to employers.
