We are working with a values-driven not-for-profit organisation supporting people across NSW through community-focused services. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to further develop their expertise across Human Resources, Workplace Health & Safety, and Workers Compensation in a collaborative and supportive environment.

About the Role
As the HR & WHS Advisor , you will provide practical advice, support and guidance to managers and employees across a broad range of people management, WHS and Workers Compensation matters. Working closely with senior HR professionals, you will contribute to a safe, compliant and engaged workplace while supporting business-wide HR initiatives and projects. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and guidance on Workers Compensation, Return to Work programs, WHS incidents, hazards and compliance requirements. 
  • Support managers with employee relations matters including performance management, grievances and disciplinary processes. 
  • Assist with the management of Workers Compensation claims, including liaison with insurers, rehabilitation providers and employees. 
  • Support HR Business Partners with investigations, reviews and people-related projects. 
  • Provide advice on employment legislation, awards, policies and procedures. 
  • Participate in policy reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver quality HR services. 
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Experience in Human Resources or HR Administration, ideally supported by a relevant tertiary qualification. 
  • Knowledge of HR policies, practices and employment legislation. 
  • Understanding of Workers Compensation and Return to Work processes. 
  • Working knowledge of WHS risk and hazard management. 
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HR-related systems including HRIS, LMS and recruitment platforms. 
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or willingness to obtain within an agreed timeframe).
  • Return to Work Coordinator certification.
