SecondBite , one of Australia’s leading food rescue organisations, is seeking an experienced Grants Program Officer to support the growth of its philanthropic income and help deliver programs that make a meaningful difference in communities facing food insecurity.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the Grants Program Officer plays a central role in managing SecondBite’s grants program. You will identify new funding opportunities, develop compelling grant submissions, manage reporting obligations, and maintain strong relationships with philanthropic partners and funding bodies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare high-quality grant submissions, interim reports and acquittals, ensuring accuracy and timely lodgement.
  • Research and identify suitable new funding opportunities aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Manage and maintain a comprehensive grants pipeline to ensure compliance and maximise every opportunity.
  • Build and nurture relationships with existing funders, providing updates and identifying opportunities to grow support.
  • Work with internal teams to develop project priorities and enhance knowledge-sharing, reporting and grants processes.
  • Support general fundraising administration and assist senior philanthropy leaders to maximise granting opportunities.
  • Contribute to a safe, positive and collaborative workplace culture.
About You
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in grants writing and grants management.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with a proven ability to produce successful submissions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing competing deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM systems 
  • A proactive team player with strong integrity and a commitment to SecondBite’s mission.
