General Manager | The Village Chef by Meals on Wheels
The Village Chef – by Meals on Wheels is one of the few services with its own production kitchen, preparing freshly cooked meals every day. It offers a mix of traditional Australian favourites and international home-style dishes, catering to the diverse cultures and tastes of the Northern Sydney region.
The service has grown over the years and now serves over 7,000 meals per month in the Northern Sydney region. The service is supported by a team of 15 full and part-time staff, including a qualified chef, kitchen staff, centre management, administration support and a band of valued volunteers.
The key focus of the role:
Deliver on TVC’s mission of preparing and delivering quality meals with kindness, care and support by:
Current NSW Police Check for working with vulnerable persons is required.
Current driver’s licence and use of a car.
Understand and agree to the Aged Care Code of Conduct.
Remuneration and location:
Circa $140,000 plus superannuation and access to salary packaging.
Turramurra Head Office based 5 days a week

- Working with the board to implement the 2025 – 2028 Strategic Plan
- Strong people leadership to continue the focus on building a team culture
- Operationalising an integrated service delivery model
- Embedding new Salesforce CRM across the service
- Growing the service through strategic partnerships
- Strengthening volunteer engagement
- Proven leadership experience in the community or not-for-profit sector with the ability to lead a small, passionate team with integrity and vision preferably in a food-related or senior services organisation
- Demonstrated experience in operations, including standardising and streamlining of processes.
- Sound financial management skills, including budgeting and grant applications
- Experience working with government funding bodies and community networks
- Experience with governance, compliance, risk and regulatory frameworks
- Understanding of community aged care and current reforms
- A commitment to social justice, equity and community development
