GENERAL MANAGER, EARLY CHILDHOOD APPROACH | LIFESTART
The Role:
The General Manager, Early Childhood Approach is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and effective management of the Early Childhood Department.
Lifestart supports children and young people aged 0-24 years living with disability and their families and carers, to be part of everyday life in their community. As a Partner In The Community (PITC) for the Early Childhood Approach, the department supports children younger than 9 years old with disability, developmental delays or developmental concerns, and their families/carers, to access the right support when they need it across five service areas in Sydney in collaboration with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
Key Deliverables
With a recognised tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, including education, allied health, or social sciences, the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the key deliverables of the role.
Competitive base salary, plus superannuation, salary packaging, leave loading, car parking and an additional week of leave.
The role is located in Rhodes with parking provided. You must have the flexibility to be able to travel to the service areas including Gosford, Penrith and Miranda.
Lifestart supports a hybrid working model.

Legal right to work in Australia
Valid Working with Children Check clearance
Valid NDIS Worker Check clearance

- Reporting to the CEO, you will work collaboratively with the Executive Team and other departments to share knowledge and resources, resolve cross-functional matters and contribute to the achievement of broader organisational goals.
- Leading a team of 7 direct reports and oversight for a broader team of 100, you will oversee the delivery of high quality, best practice client services, ensuring delivery is consistent with Lifestart and NDIA polices, ideally in Early Childhood Intervention.
- Embed and foster a continuous improvement mindset across the department by encouraging innovation, regularly reviewing processes and performance, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and implementing initiatives that drive client outcomes, efficiency, and service quality.
- Foster positive working relationships with external stakeholders to provide and represent Lifestart at consultations and working groups.
