The opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to step into a role based within Taronga Zoo , where conservation, education and community come to life every day. For someone passionate about protecting wildlife , empowering young people , and building a more sustainable future , this role offers the chance to shape fundraising and impact.
Working closely with the CEO, you will lead fundraising, philanthropy, and communications to support long term organisational sustainability . This role suits someone who can think strategically while bringing energy , initiative , and a willingness to be hands on to drive future growth.
This is a part time hybrid role, with one day a week in the office.
In this role, you will
- Develop and deliver a clear fundraising plan
to grow income across Individual Giving, Major Donors, and Gifts in Wills
- Build and manage relationships with donors
, supporting long term engagement and ongoing support
- Identify and grow new income streams
, including corporate partnerships
and trusts and foundations
- Support the CEO with donor engagement
, including research, proposals and presentations
- Plan and deliver campaigns across digital, email and events to engage supporters
- Develop and deliver communications and marketing activity to raise brand awareness and support fundraising outcomes
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in fundraising / philanthropy
- Experience / understanding of donor stewardship
and portfolio management
- Strong communication skills with the ability to develop clear and compelling marketing content
- Comfortable working in a small team
and taking ownership of your work
- A positive attitude
with energy and a willingness to be hands on
- An interest in conservation , education , sustainability or social impact
