The role:
Based in the Northern Rivers, this highly visible role partners closely with principals, school leaders, and operational stakeholders across a portfolio of schools. You will provide both strategic financial guidance and hands-on commercial support, helping leaders make informed decisions through clear, practical financial insights.
Working within a collaborative, values-led environment, you will contribute to the stewardship of resources that support strong educational outcomes for students and communities across regional NSW.

The finance and infrastructure function works in close partnership with school and system leaders to support financial sustainability, planning, and effective resource stewardship. The culture is collaborative, mission-aligned, and grounded in a shared commitment to supporting school communities.
Role responsibilities:
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across a portfolio of schools to help them achieve their strategic goals
- Deliver monthly reporting and analysis, highlighting key trends, risks, and variances
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to principals and school leadership teams
- Provide commercial analysis, financial modelling, scenario planning, and business case support
- Translate complex financial information into clear, practical insights for non-finance stakeholders
- Monitor funding allocation and resource utilisation to ensure accountability and compliance
- Identify and support process and reporting improvements across systems and models
- Contribute to change initiatives and continuous improvement across the organisation
- Work collaboratively with finance and school-based teams to build financial capability
- CA/CPA qualified (or near completion) with relevant tertiary qualifications
- Experience in a Finance Business Partner or Management Accounting role in a complex, multi-site environment
- Confident communicator able to simplify financial information for non-finance audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a sound commercial mindset
- Strong ability to build trusted relationships with principals and school leaders
- Advanced Excel skills; ERP and BI system exposure highly regarded
- Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement
- Comfortable working in a relationship-driven, values-aligned environment
