Role responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working as a member of the management team, this role is responsible for the financial health and operational effectiveness of the organisation. You will lead a small finance and operations team and ensure systems, processes and controls support the organisation’s strategic objectives.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management, providing timely and accurate financial reporting to the CEO and Board.
- Oversee grant acquittals and ensure funding is managed in line with agreements and compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ACNC requirements, accounting standards and relevant legislation, including coordination of audits.
- Oversee day-to-day operational functions including finance, administration, ICT, HR support, and property and facilities.
- Lead, support and develop finance and administration staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable team culture.
- Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes and policies to enhance organisational efficiency.
- Tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a finance and operations management role, ideally within a not-for-profit or purpose-driven organisation.
- Strong financial management, reporting and compliance experience, including budget development and audit coordination.
- Proven people leadership skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a resource-constrained environment.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
