- Provide accurate, timely, and practical advice across all areas of employee and industrial relations.
- Support members in interpreting industrial instruments, managing disputes, and implementing effective people management strategies.
- Advise on compliance with workplace legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
- Assist with performance management, misconduct, disciplinary, and grievance processes.
- Mentor and guide members through workplace challenges, helping them build effective and confident people management practices.
- Attend meetings with members and external stakeholders, contributing to advocacy efforts and member representation.
- Support internal workforce initiatives and contribute to a positive, respectful, and productive workplace culture.
- Previous experience in a HR Advisor, Employment Relations Advisor or similar role
- Sound understanding of Australian employment legislation and Modern Awards
- Exposure to employee relations, performance management and workplace investigations
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong attention to detail
- Experience in small business environments
- Understanding of issues impacting independent businesses
- Experience in membership-based organisations
