Australia for UNHCR is seeking a passionate Direct Marketing Coordinator to join their high-performing Fundraising team. This role offers a unique opportunity to support and lead end-to-end direct marketing campaigns that support people displaced by conflict, disaster and persecution worldwide.

About the Role
Reporting to the Direct Marketing Manager, the Direct Marketing Coordinator – Appeals and Loyalty is responsible for delivering integrated campaigns that acquire, retain and renew both single and regular donors. With a strong focus on storytelling and supporter experience, you’ll drive warm and acquisition direct mail campaigns and loyalty communications across Australia and New Zealand.
This is a highly collaborative, cross-functional role that plays a key part in ensuring Australia for UNHCR’s fundraising goals are met while delivering an exceptional experience to its loyal community of supporters.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end project management of acquisition mail appeals and bi-annual retention communication - including timelines, budgets, creative direction and data segmentation strategy
- Collaboration with internal stakeholders including the digital team, and partnerships and Philanthropy team, to deliver channel integrated strategies for quarterly warm appeals, and end-to-end delivery of the direct mail component for the core donor segment
- Deliver emergency appeals as required
- Liaise with external suppliers including mail houses, list brokers, copywriters and designers
- Collaborate with internal teams (Data, BI, Communications) to ensure seamless execution
- Optimise supporter engagement touchpoints to improve retention and donor lifetime value
- Monitor and analyse campaign performance; contribute to post-campaign reviews
- Support budgeting, reforecasting, and procurement processes

Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven early experience working on the delivery of Direct Mail appeals or Direct Mail focused loyalty campaigns in a fundraising context
- Creative mindset and desire to drive fundraising impact through storytelling
- Demonstrated project management and proofing skills
- Strong collaborator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident working with data segmentation and to targets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, or fundraising, or relevant experience
- Experience with CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce)
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector
- Experience in the delivery of supporter/customer experience initiatives
