As Development Director , you will be a key driver of Good Return’s philanthropic growth. Working closely with the CEO, you will lead the organisation’s fundraising strategy, steward transformational donor relationships, and secure the philanthropic investment required to scale impact- particularly for women’s economic empowerment.
In this senior leadership role, you will:
- Lead and deliver Good Return’s philanthropic fundraising and business development strategy , with philanthropy as a core and essential revenue stream
- Cultivate, steward, and grow high-value philanthropic relationships with trusts, foundations, and major donors
- Secure significant philanthropic grants, major gifts, and long-term donor commitments aligned with Good Return’s mission
- Oversee corporate partnerships and marketing functions to strengthen philanthropic income and brand presence
- Inspire and lead a small, high-performing team to meet ambitious fundraising and impact goals
- Represent Good Return with credibility and purpose across philanthropic, corporate, and sector networks
You are a strategic, engaging leader with deep and demonstrated experience in philanthropy . You bring a strong understanding of the philanthropic landscape and a proven ability to design and deliver successful fundraising strategies. You are skilled at engaging donors around impact, building trust-based relationships, and converting shared values into sustained investment.

Essential experience and capabilities:
- Substantial experience in philanthropic fundraising within a not-for-profit, NGO, or social impact organisation
- A proven track record of securing high-value philanthropic grants and major gifts from trusts, foundations, and individual donors
- Demonstrated success in donor stewardship, relationship management, and long-term partnership development
- Strong strategic, analytical, and planning skills applied to fundraising growth
- Proven leadership experience, including managing and mentoring teams in a purpose-driven environment
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to represent impact compellingly to senior stakeholders
