About FRRR
FRRR is a national charity supporting rural, regional, and remote communities to be vibrant, resilient, and sustainable. Through programs and partnerships, FRRR works alongside local people to enable them to design and lead solutions that build stronger, more climate-ready communities.
Their work is grounded in five key impact areas:
- Next generation transition
- Outback and very remote communities
- Climate solutions
- Disaster resilience
- First Nations self-determination
This role supports the delivery of the Future Drought Fund’s Communities Program — a national initiative helping communities prepare for and adapt to drought by strengthening local systems, networks, and resilience.
This is a full time fixed term role to end December 2028.
FRRR office is located in Bendigo, but this position is a remote role and applicants can be based anywhere in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with community-based not-for-profits across rural, regional and remote Australia
- Be the face of FRRR , building trusted relationships and brokering connections that enable local action
- Support communities to access grants and funding , helping them design and deliver their own drought-preparedness initiatives
- Travel extensively interstate to engage with local leaders, community groups, and partner organisations
- Collaborate with national partners like the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation to ensure successful delivery of the program
You’re a natural connector who empowers others and thrives in a collaborative, adaptive environment. You bring:
- Experience working directly with remote and rural communities
- A strong understanding of community-led approaches
- Confidence navigating systems and processes
- Willingness and enthusiasm for regular interstate travel
- Being a team player and having a collaborative approach is vital in this environment
