For over 150 years The Leprosy Mission Australia has partnered with Australians to ensure that people affected by leprosy across the world get the cure, care, and restoration they need to live life in all its fullness. As part of a global network comprised of 30 Members, we are working together to reach our goal of zero leprosy transmission by 2035. The Leprosy Mission extends the hand of ‘mateship’ to those affected by leprosy, disability and other marginalised people. Our supported programs are on the ground in India, Nepal, Nigeria, Indonesia, and Timor-Leste
About the Role
- Lead the creation of purposeful, missionโdriven content that strengthens TLMA’s voice and impact.
- Drive the organisation’s content and communications strategy, guiding agency partners and a Digital Content Coordinator to deliver aligned, highโquality storytelling.
- Own media relations - developing media plans, pitching stories, and building strong relationships to amplify TLMA’s work.
- Oversee content flow and quality across teams and channels, shaping compelling global program stories and contributing to major organisational projects like the Annual Report.
- Ability to work within a Christian faith based and values driven environment and be respectful of a faith centred supporter base
- Journalism, communications, media relations, or content strategy background – prior experience working with media outlets
- Self-starter who takes initiative and makes confident informed and data driven decisions
- Digitally proficient and comfortable across platforms such as Asana and Airtable.
- Strategic thinker who can step back and shape direction
- Calm under deadline pressure, thrives in an agile, fastโmoving environment
