In this role you will lead the Clinical and Service Governance team and provide strategic leadership for clinical and service governance across Lifeline, ensuring safe, effective, person-centric crisis support is provided across all services.
  
Responsibilities of the role
  • Lead the development and implementation of Lifeline’s Service and Clinical Governance Framework, including policies, procedures, governance structures, escalation pathways and annual governance planning
  • Provide expert clinical oversight across incident management, SAC1 investigations, complaints, corrective actions and quality improvement, ensuring safe and effective service delivery
  • Strengthen risk and safety systems
  • Monitor and analyse service performance and drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with national standard
  • Build capability across the workforce, contributing to training content, competency frameworks, clinical supervision systems and practice review processes
  • Foster strong internal and external partnerships, collaborating with centres, subcontractors, regulators, accrediting bodies, health providers and other stakeholders to uplift service quality and governance maturity
  
Essential Criteria:
To succeed in the role, you will be an experienced leader, with a strong professional background across mental health and service delivery. You will also have:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field – Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or similar
  • A strong track record managing clinical governance, clinical risk and escalations and complaints and multidisciplinary teams
  • An understanding of the National Safety & Quality Digital Mental Health Standards
  • Extensive knowledge and professional experience across mental health or community services, governing service quality and standards, and remediating service quality issues
  • Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and procedures and national standards governing mental health, suicidality, child protection, and domestic violence
  • A supportive, open, and transparent leadership style, to inspire teams and cultivate a positive culture.
  • Experience in providing practice supervision in individual and group settings
  • Ability to foster relationships across teams, as well as engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, with an emphasis on the ability to lead, negotiate and influence through effective communication
  • A growth mindset and ability to embrace continuous learning
  • An understanding on how to lead a team through change, particularly in the implementation of service improvements and transitions
