A leading cancer research organisation conducting collaborative studies across Australia and New Zealand, representing clinicians, researchers and people with a lived experience of cancer.
   
The Opportunity and Candidate Profile
  
As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) you will lead effective working relationships across the organisation and between the staff and the Board, fostering collaboration, consultation and engagement in the delivery of the strategic plan.
  
The Statutory position of Company Secretary is also held by the CEO, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements with respect to operating the company.
  
In addition to effectively stewarding the business operations through the management team, you will also:
  
  • Grow the organisation’s public profile and reputation, acting as an Ambassador for the organisation
  • Actively develop and manage external relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, including government, sponsors, donors, lived experience community representatives and members
  • Maintain and build national and international relationships in the cancer research community
  
A decisive, energetic and empowering leader of staff and volunteers, you will bring executive level leadership ideally in the health and/or cancer research environment. Your experience will also encompass:
  
  • Demonstrated high level collaborative, relationship building & networking skills – in such areas as research institutions/universities, government (Federal/State), pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support the Management Team to effectively deliver on multiple complex programs
  • Demonstrated initiative and flexibility, capable of successfully designing and effecting organisational change within a dynamic research environment in response to strategic initiatives, fostering productive synergies
  • High level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels, including large audiences
  • A strong understanding of financial management
