Western Sydney Migrant Resource Centre (WSMRC) supports newly arrived migrants and refugees. With offices in the heart of Liverpool CBD and Campbelltown, servicing Southwestern Sydney, they are at the centre of the community they support. Through a range of wrap around programs that support core settlement services the aim is to empower diverse communities to connect, communicate and contribute. These include family services, playgroups, disability and health supports, youth activities and a variety of other information-based advisory and community leadership programs.
The Opportunity and Candidate Profile
As CEO you will champion inclusivity and progress for the migrant community. In addition to strategic responsibilities, the CEO serves as a leader, guiding employees to effectively support migrants' diverse needs.
To be successful in the role you will bring:
- Demonstrated ability working with boards to provide executive leadership and strategic direction for an organisation that values inclusivity, cultural sensitivity and equity.
- Experience with community based programs, services and policies ideally that support the settlement and integration of migrants and refugees. Lived experience will be highly regarded.
- Strong ability to navigate complexity, establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community organisations, funding bodies, sector collaborations and partnerships to enhance service delivery and advocate for migrant and refugee rights.
- Excellent proficiency in financial management, budgeting and resource allocation to ensure the sustainability and growth of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to secure funding from various sources, such as grants, donations, corporate partnerships and the development of new services.
Strongly Desirable
- Experience in media relations and public speaking, including engaging with diverse media outlets.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field, such as social work, community development, business administration, or equivalent experience.
