For more than 60 years, Guide Dogs NSW/ACT has been by the side of Australians living with low vision or blindness, helping people of all ages live independently, safely and with confidence. We are best known for our extraordinary guide dogs but our impact reaches far beyond. We deliver specialist mobility and orientation services, training in assistive technology and daily living skills and advocacy, education and leadership in low vision care.

Guide Dogs NSW/ACT is committed to providing an innovative world leading service for people with low vision, creating an innovative new digital platform, Seeway, to provide a personalised support service for people living with permanent low vision. Guide Dogs NSW/ACT is also an active participant in the Assistance Dogs International network and the International Guide Dog Federation.

The Board of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT places a high priority on lived expertise within the blind, low vision and disability community.
Empathetic, curious and personable you will have demonstrated your ability to lead cohesive and united teams in times of transition and change with a focused commitment to executing against strategy.
Resilient and focused with a track record of business stewardship in client services delivering operational excellence, balancing business as usual with service evolution and innovation.
Commercially and financially astute with the ability to understand the levers of a for purpose organisation with a highly engaged client base and donor community.
Other critical characteristics include an entrepreneurial mindset, able to balance income diversification and accountability as well as build on award-winning brand performance including Gifts in Wills, major giving and corporate partnerships to sustain growth.
Able to navigate complexity, advocate and influence to inform systems change in different forums including government and policy, the low vision and disability sector, health and adjacent sectors and globally with the Guide Dogs Federation and Assistance Dogs International network.
A track record of successfully engaging with Boards, reporting on and delivering measurable, meaningful impact that breaks down barriers in terms of access and equity.
Able to occasionally travel nationally and internationally to represent the organisation at advocacy events, business opportunities and stakeholder meetings.
