About the Role
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will lead ADPA through a period of strategic growth and influence, ensuring operational excellence, strong advocacy, and increasing member value. This role is pivotal in delivering sustainable outcomes while maintaining the association’s integrity, transparency, and member-first focus.
As CEO, you will oversee operations, guide the implementation of strategic priorities, and represent the profession to government, regulators, and key stakeholders. You will work closely with the Executive Officer and the Board to deliver an ambitious agenda of advocacy, professional development, member engagement, and organisational sustainability.
    
Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Governance: Ensure strong governance through effective risk, compliance, and performance oversight, supported by clear, strategic advice.
  • Membership Engagement: Drive strategies to grow and retain membership. Enhance member value through advocacy, education, networking, and clear, consistent communication.
  • Advocacy & Representation: Represent ADPA alongside the National President in key forums. Advocate for member interests, manage stakeholder relationships, and delegate clinical matters where required.
  • Programs, Events & Education: Lead the delivery of relevant, high-quality events and professional development in collaboration with the Executive Officer.
  • Collaboration & Team Leadership: Lead a small team and support volunteer and committee contributions. Build a collaborative, high performing culture focused on learning, growth, and shared purpose.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Senior leadership experience, with emerging executives who demonstrate strategic capability and leadership potential also encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated strength in advocacy, governance, membership engagement, and strategic communications
  • A member first mindset, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to communicate with clarity and influence.
  • A collaborative and ethical leadership style, with strategic thinking, sound judgement, and a focus on delivering outcomes.
