RMHC Australia enables RMHC Chapters across Australia to deliver the RMHC mission by collaborating and working with them to facilitate and drive initiatives and opportunities, economies of scale and efficiencies. The RMHC mission is to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare. Each year, we support approximately 69,000 families across Australia through our Ronald McDonald Houses, Family Rooms, Family Retreats, Hospitality Carts, and Ronald McDonald Learning Program
About the role
This fixed-term position is dedicated to leading the implementation of a strategic brand initiative that will enhance clarity, consistency and future-proof the RMHC brand in Australia. This is a pivotal role that sits at the intersection of strategy, storytelling and stakeholder engagement. Reporting to the General Manager of Brand & Engagement, working closely with the Brand & Marketing Manager, the Brand Strategist will collaborate with internal teams, RMHC Global, RMHC Chapters, McDonald's stakeholders and agency partners to guide the successful implementation of this strategic initiative.
Key responsibilities
Strategic brand delivery:
- Lead the national rollout of a strategic brand initiative, including leading a diverse stakeholder working group.
- Localise and implement brand strategy and creative elements across all channels and internal/external touchpoints.
Stakeholder engagement:
- Build alignment across the RMHC System, McDonald’s, and agency partners through tailored communications and training.
- Guide and support internal teams and Chapters in applying brand assets and messaging frameworks.
Creative & campaign leadership:
- Work with agency partners to scope, test, and finalise brand assets and creative campaigns.
- Prepare for national rollout through media planning, campaign development and internal engagement.
Project management:
- Own delivery milestones and timelines, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
- Develop evaluation tools and reporting frameworks to assess the success and impact of the brand initiative.
About you
You’re a collaborative and strategic brand leader who can translate vision into action. You have experience delivering complex branding projects in fast-paced environments, and you’re confident guiding a wide range of stakeholders through change.
You’re a natural communicator, a skilled project manager, and someone who can navigate ambiguity while driving clarity and cohesion.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Brand, Marketing, Communications, or related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in brand management or brand strategy.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and project delivery experience.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector, working within a federated organisation and change management is highly regarded.
- Familiarity with tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or video editing platforms is a plus.
- Strong leadership in brand strategy and governance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead campaigns across media and channels.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Creative, organised and detail-oriented with a data-informed approach.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a federated or complex organisation.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Availability for interstate travel and occasional after-hours work.
