NeuRA has world-class research facilities and is based at Randwick in Sydney.
About the role
You will report into the Senior Accountant in a small finance team and be responsible for a wide variety of financial operations such as: AR, donations and purchasing, providing support with monthly activities (ie: banking, taxation, assets, balance sheet reconciliations) and more.
- Be a point of contact for stakeholders with day-to-day finance issues or questions – addressing or escalating as needed and building strong internal relationships by delivering high levels of customer service.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable – generate supplier invoices, reconciliations of invoice receipts, debtor review and followup.
- Collaborate with the NeuRA fundraising team to reconcile and process monthly donation receipts.
- Ensure grant funds are billed and brought across to NeuRA in a timely manner by liaising with external researchers.
- Support with the management and posting of staff expenses – addressing expense management issues or queries if necessary.
- Support continuous improvement by troubleshooting system issues, creating and training new processes or working with suppliers to find solutions.
- Contribute to the month end process including monthly journals, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting with ad hoc activitiessuch as financial audits, projects and more.
The successful candidate
You’ll be feedback-driven, eager to learn and grow and enjoy collaborating and communicating with a variety of stakeholders both internal and stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting and have completed or currently be studying towards CPA or CA qualifications.
- Previous experience working in a similar role - familiarity with research grants will be highly regarded.
- Advanced skills with the Microsoft Office suite, in particular proficiency in Excel and Word – and previous experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar ERP system.
- Exceptional attention to detail while working to multiple deadlines or priorities.
