As our  Outreach and Education Manager , you'll lead innovative programs that support vulnerable people, strengthen communities, and improve animal welfare outcomes through education, early intervention and practical support. From humane education in school-based learning to outreach initiatives that help families access vital pet care services, you'll create meaningful change where it's needed most.

About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager- Outreach, Education and Crisis Support Programs, you will lead the operational delivery of community-focused programs that improve animal welfare, increase access to primary veterinary care for communities experiencing barriers to services, and provide humane education for young people and communities..

We're looking for a compassionate and confident leader who is equally comfortable engaging with people facing complex life challenges as they are advocating for the wellbeing of animals. You'll bring a strong background in education, learning, community engagement or program delivery , along with the ability to inspire teams, volunteers and partners around a shared purpose. If you're passionate about helping people learn, grow and make lasting positive choices for the animals in their care, this is an opportunity to turn that passion into measurable community impact.

You will oversee a small team of employees and volunteers, build strategic partnerships, drive program performance and contribute to initiatives that advance RSPCA NSW's vision through a One Welfare approach, recognising the connection between animal welfare, human wellbeing and the environment in which they live.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Outreach and Community Programs by developing and delivering community-based prevention and early intervention initiatives that improve access to veterinary care, desexing, vaccination, microchipping, education and animal welfare support
  • Deliver Education Strategy and Programs by leading the implementation of RSPCA NSW's education initiatives across schools, community settings, the Education Centre and online platforms
  • Build Strategic Partnerships through effective engagement with government agencies, local councils, Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, human services, health and housing providers, community groups and other key stakeholders to expand program reach and impact
  • Lead and Develop Teams and Volunteers by building a high-performing, inclusive workforce, ensuring employees and volunteers are effectively recruited, onboarded, supported, developed, recognised and empowered to deliver positive community outcomes
  • Manage Program Performance and Sustainability through business planning, budget management, monitoring and evaluation, impact reporting and continuous improvement, while identifying opportunities to secure funding and support program growth
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Education, Training, Human Services, Management or a related discipline
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current Class C Driver Licence
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Experience managing and delivering community, education or service-based programs
  • Experience engaging, coordinating or supporting volunteers
  • Experience in budget management and operational planning
  • Experience developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks
