We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Legal Practice Manager to join a respected organisation based in Circular Quay. This is an initial contract through to mid-March, with the potential to extend or become permanent for the right candidate.
While legal experience is highly regarded, we are equally interested in candidates from professional services, consulting, accounting, financial services, not-for-profit or similar environments with strong operational management experience.
The successful candidate will ideally commence in early October to allow for a comprehensive handover with the current incumbent.
The Role
This position is best suited to someone with a generalist operations background who enjoys overseeing business operations, supporting people and ensuring smooth day-to-day practice management.
Responsibilities include:
- Payroll administration and coordination
- People operations and employee lifecycle support
- Coordinating onboarding and offboarding processes
- Ensuring staff are set up with payroll, systems access and WFH compliance requirements
- Scheduling probation reviews and employee check-ins
- Monitoring compliance requirements and organisational deadlines
- Executive and team support
- Travel, meeting and diary coordination
- Office and facilities management
- Supporting senior stakeholders and wider team activities
- Reviewing and improving operational processes
- Managing a variety of administrative and business support functions to ensure the practice runs efficiently
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Previous experience in Operations Management, Practice Management, Office Management, Business Operations or Senior Administration roles
- Experience overseeing payroll and people operations processes
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience supporting senior leaders and busy teams
- A proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running
- Experience within legal, professional services, consulting, accounting, financial services or not-for-profit environments will be highly regarded
- Initial contract through to mid-March
