Legacy Club Services is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, that is dedicated to providing shared professional services to enable Legacy Clubs to deliver on their purpose; supporting families of servicepersons who have given their life or health in service to Australia.
  
In 1923 Legacy made a promise to help veterans’ families carry on with their lives after the loss or injury of their loved one. Today, Legacy supports more than 28,000 partners and children of veterans. Their work can mean a child gets an education and a fair go, a widow is not disadvantaged and alone and a family is not torn apart by the effects of post-traumatic stress or other psychological injuries.
  
The Role:
  
Reporting to the General Manager, People & Culture, this newly created People & Culture Business Partner position is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys both operational and project-based work. Partnering closely with leaders across NSW and QLD, you will provide trusted HR support while helping shape and improve people, culture and WHS initiatives across the organisation.
  
This is a genuine generalist role for someone who enjoys building relationships, creating fit-for-purpose HR frameworks, and driving continuous improvement. It will suit a hands-on Business Partner who is motivated to see key projects through from concept to implementation.
  
The responsibilities of the role include:
  • Partner with leaders across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and offboarding.
  • Review, develop and update HR policies, procedures and position descriptions.
  • Lead and support people and culture projects, including learning and development initiatives and workforce planning activities.
  • Review and strengthen WHS policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.
  • Contribute to employee engagement, culture and retention initiatives.
  • Utilise HR systems and reporting to provide workforce insights and recommendations.
  
Essential Criteria/About you:  
  • Previous experience in a People & Culture Advisory or Business Partner role.
  • Qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline, or currently working towards one.
  • Strong knowledge of National Employment Standards, Modern Awards and employment legislation.
  • Experience developing, reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of WHS principles and an interest in strengthening organisational compliance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and genuine willingness to roll up your sleeves and support the broader organisation.
  • Exposure to HRIS platforms such as Employment Hero will be highly regarded.
  • Experience within the not-for-profit sector is highly regarded.
