The Opportunity
Reporting to the Risk & Compliance Manager, you will support risk management, assurance and compliance activities across the Archdiocese.
Working as part of a small specialist team, you will conduct assurance reviews, analyse risk and compliance data, maintain risk management systems and contribute to initiatives that strengthen organisational governance and risk management capability.
This position would suit an analytical and naturally curious professional who enjoys working with data, understanding how organisations operate, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assurance reviews and report on findings, recommendations and management responses.
- Analyse, aggregate and transform data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
- Provide analytical support to business units on risk management and compliance matters.
- Monitor and track assurance review recommendations, action plans, issues and incidents.
- Assist with the ongoing review and enhancement of risk registers, incident registers, procedures and risk profiles.
- Support the delivery of training and education initiatives that strengthen risk awareness and promote a positive risk and compliance culture.
- Prepare reports and risk information for committees, forums and leadership groups.
- Contribute to project work and continuous improvement initiatives as directed by the Risk & Compliance Manager.
About You
You will be an organised, analytical and detail-oriented professional who enjoys interpreting information, solving problems and working within a complex organisational environment.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Governance, Audit, Business, Law or a related discipline.
- A minimum of two years' experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management and/or Compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Excellent written communication and report-writing capability.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, and confidence learning new systems and technologies.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to your work.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- An ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- An understanding of, or genuine interest in, the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
