Through the generosity of donors and supporters, HROz helps fund research that can lead to better outcomes for people and families affected by cardiovascular disease.

Help establish funded research

This newly created Impact Lead role offers a unique opportunity to establish the foundations for how Heart Research Australia captures, measures and communicates the impact of its research funding with supporters.

Working with the CEO , you will review research investments , work with researchers and develop a framework that demonstrates how HROz funding contributes to scientific discoveries , researcher development , clinical progress and improved heart health outcomes.

This role is about far more than data, and focusses on uncovering the stories behind the research , identifying meaningful outcomes and building a sustainable process that helps demonstrate the long-term value of donor investment.

You will play an important role in strengthening donor engagement, supporting future fundraising, informing organisational strategy and helping ensure the achievements of funded researchers are recognised and celebrated.

How you’ll make a difference
  • Establish a impact framework , priorities and reporting processes.
  • Develop a structured, searchable database of funded research projects, historical grants and outcomes.
  • Engage with past and current researchers to gather updates, capture impact information and identify key achievements.
  • Develop compelling impact stories in collaboration with the Fundraising and Communications Team to bring to life the vital research and outcomes that HROz has made possible.
  • Recommend reporting and acquittal processes that support future impact measurement.
  • Work closely with Communications and Fundraising Teams to bring to life the vital research and outcomes that HROz has made possible.
  • Prepare a reporting across project updates, end-of-year reporting and presentations for leadership, committees and Board stakeholders.

You're a research, evaluation or impact professional who enjoys uncovering evidence, identifying meaningful outcomes and translating complex information into compelling stories.

You understand that behind every research project is the potential to improve lives, and you're motivated by helping organisations demonstrate that impact clearly and effectively.

To be successful, you will bring:
  • Highly desirable: A tertiary qualification in social sciences, public health, statistics or a related discipline.
  • Experience designing or delivering program evaluations, impact measurement projects or applied research initiatives.
  • Strong mixed-method research skills, with the ability to analyse both quantitative data and qualitative information.
  • Excellent report writing skills and the ability to communicate complex research outcomes in clear, accessible language.
  • Confidence engaging with a range of stakeholders including, cardiologists, researchers, clinicians, executives and other stakeholders.
  • Strong technical capability across databases, information systems and reporting tools.
  • The ability to work independently while building collaborative and productive relationships.
