Grain Trade Australia (GTA) is the leading industry body supporting Australia's grain supply chain and commercial grain trade. Working with members across storage, trading, logistics, processing and exporting, GTA plays a critical role in maintaining industry standards, facilitating trade and delivering services that support the broader grain industry.
About the role
With the current incumbent departing in late August, this role has been created to provide continuity across finance, governance and business operations while the organisation recruits a permanent appointment. An early start is preferred to allow for a handover period.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will step into a broad, hands-on role overseeing finance administration, company secretarial responsibilities, business operations, systems and a small support team. This is an opportunity for an experienced corporate services professional to quickly add value in a collaborative and highly regarded industry association.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Corporate Services
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations including AP/AR, payroll, banking, reporting, cash flow and month-end processes.
- Prepare finance and risk reporting and support audit requirements.
- Coordinate Board and committee meetings, including agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking.
- Manage ASIC, ATO and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Support AGM preparation, Director nominations and governance reporting.
- Ensure the smooth running of business operations and corporate services functions.
- Oversee key systems including Salesforce, EventsAir, MYOB, WordPress, Notion and Microsoft 365 .
- Liaise with external providers and assist with technology, website and operational issues.
- Support the delivery of events, training programmes and member initiatives.
- Manage registrations, communications and reporting through EventsAir .
- Lead and support a small team across communications, events and office administration.
- Partner closely with the CEO to maintain business continuity during this transition period.
- Demonstrated experience in business operations, corporate services, office management, or a similar role.
- Experience supporting governance, Board, and company secretarial functions, including compliance and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong financial administration, budgeting, and reporting capabilities, with the ability to support organisational decision-making.
- Strong systems and technology capability, including Salesforce, EventsAir, and MYOB, with the ability to optimise processes and support business outcomes.
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with a positive, can-do attitude, strong initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- High emotional intelligence, with outstanding stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
