Beaumont People are proud to be partnering with Compassion Australia to recruit an experienced and collaborative Accounts Payable Officer for a 10-month contract commencing in October 2026 .
 
Based in Newcastle, this is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Payable professional who enjoys working in a supportive team environment and wants to contribute to an organisation with a meaningful mission. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions while supporting the smooth operation of the Finance team.
 
About the Role
As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounts payable function, ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time while maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Processing supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently
  • Managing accounts payable workflows and approval processes
  • Preparing and processing payment runs
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Responding to supplier and internal stakeholder enquiries
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
  • Assisting with month-end reporting and finance requirements
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function
  • Contributing positively to a collaborative and supportive team environment
About You
We're looking for someone who not only brings strong Accounts Payable experience but who will thrive in a close-knit team environment. To be successful, you will have:
  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Finance Officer or similar role
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to work
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Experience using Microsoft Great Plains (Dynamics GP) will be highly regarded but is not essential
