Role responsibilities
You will report into the CFO and work collaboratively in a small, tight-knit finance team –you will manage a high volume of transactions without losing attention to detail in a complex environment.
- High volume processing/reconciling transactions in Xero (with an emphasis on ensuring accurate general ledger coding and GST treatment).
- Support with Accounts Payable across multiple Xero files.
- Reconciliation of debit cards, and bank accounts and process expense reimbursements.
- Provide support across broader finance functions (month-end processes, annual budget processes, and audit preparation).
- When needed, connect with volunteers/stakeholders to answer queries or follow up on relevant information- delivering excellent customer service in each interaction!
Essential Requirements
You will be comfortable in a high-volume transactional role while also having a keen eye for detail.
You’ll have a strong sense of customer service when dealing with internal stakeholders as well as volunteers, and be able to collaborate effectively in a small team.
- Qualifications in Accounting, Bookkeeping or similar, knowledge of accounting principles, and previous experience in a similar role requiring a high volume of transactions and data entry.
- Experience with accounting packages – ideally Xero (but not a must-have) and strong technical proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.
- Exceptional customer service and stakeholder management skills, high-level written and verbal communications – able to collaborate effectively in a small team.
- Strong time management skills - the ability to work autonomously to consistently meet deadlines.
- The successful candidate will be required to complete a Working with Children Check, and a National Police Check.
