DARE Disability Support is an NDIS Accredited local provider who supports people with a disability in the Blue Mountains, Penrith, and Hawkesbury regions
Due to successful funding, Dare has been awarded the unique opportunity to establish a new program in the Blue Mountains/Nepean Region, focussing on increasing access and acceptance of people with intellectual disabilities in the commercial and community sector.
The program will create inclusion and acceptance of people with intellectual disabilities by business and throughout the community. To achieve this outcome, the Project Officer will demonstrate a business case for businesses in the local community to proactively promote disability friendly workplaces and customer interactions through access and inclusion strategies.
The goal is to create a program that is so successful that it becomes best practice and expanded nationally.
This program is currently in conception stage and as the sole driver of the program, you will be tasked with developing the program from end to end. You will be required to research, plan, create a viable strategy and project plan, implement, review and evaluate set targets consistently over the two-year period.
You will be required to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, most importantly clients and liaise with community groups and local business on a regular basis. Suitable applicants will have strong experience working within the community, particularly in the region and have exceptional relationship management and influencing skills.
The successful person will create a cross-functional working group of key internal and external stakeholders to assist in the execution of the program and drive the prescribed milestones outlined in the strategy.
The Project Officer will be responsible for building the program from scratch, represent and promote Dare Disability in a positive light in all their dealings and coordinate relevant communications and promotional activities. They will regularly report and evaluate outcomes against project objectives and strategies to ensure the success of this program.
