Job Description

  • Policy Officer, 6 month Contract 
  • Sydney CBD location 
  • Paying $55.00 -$65.00 per hour + Super
About the Role
This Policy Officer will engage with Aboriginal communities to support the organisations commitment to Aboriginal Education. Please see more information about this vacancy listed below:

  • Support the consultation processes for the organisations commitment to Aboriginal Education
  • Liaise with staff, officers of other agencies and key stakeholders to inform the policy development and implementation process
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate meetings and stakeholder consultations to support engagement, policy development and implementation
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating their engagement in, and contribution to, the identification and development of policy solutions and to inform policy decision making
  • Prepare correspondence, written reports, publications, and briefs that are informative and aligned with the organisations requirements.
  • Ensuring appropriate and accurate responses to requests for information and balancing competing high priority demands
  • Liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders and obtain agreement on outcomes that are both acceptable to the orgnanisation and aligned with government priorities
Essential Requirements
  • Proven organisational skills, and ability to coordinate meetings and stakeholder consultations
  • Interpersonal skills, and ability to confidently liaise and build relationships with senior staff, key stakeholders and employees of other agencies
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in engaging with Aboriginal people and communities
  • Good communication skills, and ability to prepare correspondence, written reports and briefs that are informative and aligned with the organisation and public sector requirements
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification, or demonstrated relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
