Philanthropy Manager - Carriageworks

The Philanthropy Manager will identify, secure and foster financial support,including individual donors,major gifts,bequests and trusts and foundations.

Carriageworks is Australia’s leading contemporary cultural precinct. A place of diversity, collaboration and cultural relevance. Through the delivery of a contemporary multi-arts and major events program Carriageworks audiences will reach 2million per annum by 2021.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of a robust, on-going Development Plan
  • Manage existing donors maintaining the highest level of relationships
  • Personally solicit gifts and “make the ask”
  • Research, identify, cultivate and steward new prospects and existing donors
  • Manage the delivery, quality and growth of private giving program for Carriageworks, including a Major Gifts campaign and future capital plan
  • Ensure the efficient administration of the donor program
  • Work on a calendar of cultivation events
  • Create on-brand and memorable fundraising initiatives, campaigns and events to maximise donor retention and cultivation
  • Research and seek out additional opportunities for support from Trusts and Foundations
  • Improve engagement with major supporters by managing the policies and processes around the donor journey
  • Create plans to increase supporter commitment and relationship value
Skills & Attributes
  • Experience and proven track-record in identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual donors at all levels
  • Experience and understanding of trusts and foundations
  • Exceptional relationship management experience
  • Proven background in personally soliciting major gifts
  • Background in leading on cultivation events
  • Proven ability to hit fundraising targets
  • Experience in managing and improving supporter journeys
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • A passion for working arts and culture
