Use your child protection knowledge and experience working with children to make a positive impact and give young people a voice. This reputable organisation work with children & young people across Australia,  providing support and programs with a focus on empowerment and change.
  
We are seeking 3, full time facilitators to lead community engagement events for young people in Sydney and nearby regional areas.
 
Currently based in Sydney CBD, with a move to Parramatta from April, these positions sit within a small state team reporting to the NSW State Coordinator. The organisation offer a supportive management system. The team work to recruit new members and facilitate connection through activities and programs.
  
Responsibilities of the role
  • Develop relationships & encouraging the participation of children & young people
  • Ensure the data base of children’s details are up to date
  • Organising events, activities & programs – including promoting, booking venues, catering, equipment & transport
  • Develop a risk assessment for events, activities & programs
  • Provide quality training / Facilitate training to children & young people
  • Actively engage with, and listen to, children and young people, communicate experiences & feedback to the wider team
Your Skills & Attributes
  • Degree in human services, child protection, community development, social policy/work, or related field
  • At least 12 months practical experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with children & young people
  • An understanding of the out-of-home care system or the ability to acquire this
  • Demonstrated experience delivering programs, events & activities
  • Experience planning, promoting, delivering & evaluating workshops, programs & events
  • Highly developed written & communication skills (children and young people, sector professionals and key stakeholders)
  • Confidence in conflict resolution and problem solving
  • High level Microsoft Office skills
  • Current Full Drivers Licence
  • You will be required to clear a police & WWCC
