Communications Manager
Beaumont People are recruiting a Communications Manager for one of the largest not for profit organisations in Australia.
Reporting directly in to the COO, this person will be accountable for both the external and internal communications strategies, building the profile of the organisation and managing its reputation. This is a senior level role within the organisation, and you will have the autonomy to shape and guide strategy while personally delivering across communications. You will be an experienced senior communications professional with a background in complex media and story management. This is a standalone role working alongside the marketing team, there is a view to recruit a staff member once you are in post.

Key Responsibilities
  • Autonomy to design and deliver strategic internal and external communication plans across a complex organisation
  • Build awareness and manage the brand, messaging and corporate identity across all platforms
  • Monitor, manage and maintain media including crisis management and trouble-shooting
  • Manage and build relationships across all areas of media
  • Protect and manage the reputation of the organisation and act as spokesperson when required
  • Work alongside the marketing team to manage the voice of digital and print materials distributed both internally and externally
  • Use all channels to promote the work of the organisation across all relevant communities
  • Work collaboratively and nurture relationships with stakeholders of all levels both internal and external
  • Manage relationships with relevant suppliers
  • Create and deliver complex press releases, presentations and other written documents
Skills & Attributes
  • Significant high-level experience across internal and external communications
  • Previous experience developing and delivering on strategy
  • A background of managing communications in a complex organisation where you have dealt with a variety of issues and stories
  • Strong media training and a developed high-level network across media channels
  • Crisis management experience
  • Brand development and management
  • Ability to develop strong digital and print materials for internal and external communication plans
  • Digital experience across communications
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills
