Child Sponsorship Acquisition Manager

Drive the 5-year growth of The Smith Family’s Australian child sponsorship product, taking responsibility for end-to-end sponsor acquisition activity - from strategy, concepts, channel mix and targets through to market execution and reporting, with a focus on continual refinement and optimisation.

About the organisation

The Smith Family is an Australian, independent non-profit children's charity whose goal is to create opportunities for disadvantaged children and their families and encourage them to participate more fully in society, using education as a key tool.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Increase child sponsorship revenue year on year in line with our 5-year growth strategy
  • Management responsibility for a multimillion dollar acquisition budget
  • Responsible for development and implementation of a national strategy to significantly increase the number and quality of new child sponsors to the organisation
  • Identify and implement ways to recruit the ‘right sponsors’ to maximise engagement, retention and life time value development opportunities
  • Work to refine segmentation and other sponsor research & analytics to better target new sponsors
  • Manage sponsorship acquisition campaigns end to end across all marketing channels, including the creative brief development, above the line media buying, direct mail, logistics, data, tactical plans/testing, budgeting, reporting and analysis
  • Build new and continually enhance existing integrated opportunities for child sponsor acquisition activity across but not limited to: direct, SEM/SEO, affiliate, display, print, radio, outdoor, phone, experiential, DRTV and social
  • Identify and leverage consumer insights – translating key insights into business building ideas focused on key target sponsor segments
  • Promote an environment of innovation and testing
  • Recommend suppliers and partners to deliver activity and meet targets
  • Report regularly on activity

Skills & Attributes
  • Ability to manage significant acquisition across multiple channels with multiple suppliers and stakeholders, to revenue and cost budgets
  • Ability to develop, implement and monitor/report on new sponsor activities
  • Senior level, significant experience in successful customer/supporter acquisition activity to drive positive relationships and encourage ongoing and increased support
  • Demonstrated customer/supporter acquisition and management strategy development
  • Proven successful through the line integrated media and creative development experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of CRM databases and the storage, capture and use of data
  • Strategic planning experience and the ability to manage large budgets and targets
  • Display a high level of creativity and innovation
