Beaumont People are recruiting for a Senior Therapeutic Specialist to join a growing NFP based in Blacktown with some regional travel to Orange
  • Full time, permanent role
  • Provide therapeutic support to young people in care
  • Intensive Therapeutic Transitional Care (ITTC)
The role: 
Working as part of the newly rolled out Intensive Therapeutic Care contract, we are recruiting for an experienced Manager to be based in Blacktown, with fortnightly travel to Orange. 

The Senior Therapeutic Specialist collaborates with staff across the organisation working within a Multidisciplinary team, including House Managers, Caseworkers and Therapeutic Specialists to ensure that all decisions reflect the child or young persons' unique needs and, are guided by principles of trauma informed care and permanency planning.
This role will require you to:
  • Provide therapeutic trauma informed reflective practice and supervision, training, support and consultation to staff you directly supervise
  • Work closely with both internal and external agencies to educate, support and lead the delivery of appropriate therapeutic interventions for children and young people who have experienced significant trauma
  • Lead and coordinate the collection of data and reporting as required by Department of Community & Justice (DCJ)
  • Work closely with the DCJ, Central Access Unit (CAU) and Child and Family District Units (CFDU) in taking new referrals and identifying referral pathways for young people leaving the service
  • Contribute to the Strategic and Operational Planning of the organisation. 
  • Collaborate with House Managers and Caseworkers to establish a safe and therapeutic environment or all young people.  
A bit about you:

This role will suit a collaborative and analytical professional who is committed to providing therapeutic support to both young people in care and staff within these programs. The successful applicant will need to possess:
  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or a related discipline with the relevant professional body/peak association
  • Demonstrated experience in a management role within the community sector
  • Experience in working effectively with the issues faced by children and young people who have a complex trauma background, and a demonstrated capacity to assist staff to provide treatment to young people
  • Ability to lead and manage a team; develop and maintain motivated, professional and grow an inclusive team culture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level organisational skills, time management and project management skills.
  • Hold an unrestricted NSW driver's licence and be open to undertaking pre employment checks including WWCC and national police check
