- Term time only role – no need to work any of the school holidays
- Working hours – 8:00am – 4:00pm
About the role
- Lead the counselling team, as well as liaising with academic staff and year coordinators to ensure appropriate care for the students
- Provide counselling for students in the area of academic support to enhance their social, behavioural, emotional and academic development
- Regularly consult with parents
- Will have the ability to recommend various psychometric reports, interpret them and produce findings to staff /parents/carers
- Where appropriate refer students to other specialists and professionals
- Actively being visible to the students during breaks to normalise seeing a school counsellor
- Will be a trained psychologist with prior experience of working in a school environment
- Interested in developmental psychology
- Qualifications as a psychologist and or experience in a psychometric testing is advantageous
- Has a passion to work within a school setting
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to record keep and follow up with both students, parents and the academic team
- Close to public transport and links
- Free use of the school gym
