Due to continued growth and expansion plans our client is seeking a proactive Junior Paralegal to join their class action team. The role will involve general administration duties along with drafting items and organising statements of claim.
Core duties will include:
The employee will engage in a variety of responsibilities including preparation of court documents and correspondence, liaising with clients/doctors/insurers, preparing briefs to barristers, appearing in court, and supporting Directors, Practice Group Leader. The Junior/Assistant Paralegal is required to perform routine and non-routine clerical and administrative functions to actively support the practice by;
- Draft pleadings and applications including Statements of Claim, Statement of Particulars, Particulars of Damage, Certificates of Readiness, Consent Orders, Affidavits, Further and Better Particulars
- Attend meetings and conferences with MDR/client/barrister
- IME’s
- Drafting Statutory Declarations
- Complex disclosure
- Drafting PIPA NOC’s (Part 1 and Part 2), MVA NOAC’s and Additional Information Forms (AIF)
- Remedy non-compliance of MVA’s and PIPA
- Drafting Briefs (non-complex) to counsel under the instruction of Senior Paralegal/Director
- Liaising with clients,
- Compiling court documentation
- Engaging in legal research
- Prepare files for hearing- briefs
- Prepare pleadings for magistrate, district, supreme and federal court
- General Administrative duties including but not limited to client contact, insurer contact, telephone, emails)
- Rehabilitation Funding for Claimant’s
- Allocation of some minor MVA and PIPA Files under the instruction of Senior Paralegal/Director
- Scheduling conferences
